NOfearYEAR.com - Devotional #12 (John 11)

This devotional was one of our LIVE episodes. What an awesome time we had interacting with everyone! We also made a BIG announcement….. so if you missed it, make sure you pay close attention to the first part of the video!! You can watch the replay above.

In the rest of this video devotional, we discussed Lazarus’ death and being raised from the dead by Jesus. We read and chewed on John 11.

Some of the points discussed focused on the fact that Jesus, after hearing about Lazarus being sick, waited 2 more days before leaving to see him.  By the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had been dead for 4 days!  Mary & Martha knew that Jesus could have healed Lazarus… but in v. 21 & 32 they both expressed their disappointment with Jesus’ “failure.”

Jesus’ response was in the form of a question…. “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26)

Jesus wants us to trust Him… to believe Him, that He is capable of doing more than we can even imagine - like raising a dead, decaying body back to newness of life!

Jesus wants to do that with our fears…. He wants us to trust Him completely… and when he tells us to “Come forth” out of our life of fear… we are to be unbound & set free to live for Him!
